Build Thread 1977 cj7

i just inherited my dads old 77 CJ7 ge got in 83, but it has been sitting for about 10 years and hasnt been able to fire up or anything.. so now that i have it i have been able to get it to fire up last week, but now the starter is just grinding when i try to start it, but yet i can spin the harmonic balancer and the flywheel by hand... it just has alot of compression... any suggestions on how i can get this thing running?

That grinding noise is brobably the starter gear not engaging with the flywheel correctly. Usually that means the battery is either low or has a bad connection or the solenoid on the starter is bad.
