We all know that Chrysler likes to portray the Jeep brand as a "lifestyle" brand more than just a vehicle brand. We've all seen the Jeep-branded strollers, bicycles, clothing, and (countless) toys, but house paint? Really?
According to the Chrysler media-only blog, Jeep-related products generate over half-a-billion (yes, with a "b") dollars each year. Whoa.
From the post: Soon Jeep® owners could paint their garage to match their vehicle.
Sahara brown and other favorite Jeep colors developed by the design studio will soon be on store shelves.
“We’re getting into paints. We’re having exterior paints coming out, flooring paints, basement paints,” said Janice Tarachowski, Global Manager for Chrysler Jeep and Dodge Licensing Program.
House paints and stains are just one new Jeep merchandising product. Jeep, one of the most award-winning brands for licensing products, including five excellence awards from the Licensing Industry Merchandisers’ Association (LIMA), totaled $550 million in retail licensed product sales last year.
UPDATE (9/20/07): Chrysler LLC just posted a video of their Jeep Merchandise display at the Chrysler Technical Center and World Headquarters.
