April Jeep Sales Down 13%

Date 2008/5/2 6:42:57 | Topic: Sales

No big surprise here, but Jeep sales declined 13% in April. Sales were down across the board for all models except the Patriot - which was up over 300% compared to April, 2007. Don't be too impressed though, as Patriots production and sales were still ramping up this time last year.

The rest of the Jeep lineup all had double-digit declines, led by the Commander, whose sales dropped 44% compared to 2007.

In the official press release, Chrysler is touting its fuel-efficient cars' sales increases:
Chrysler's lineup of compact vehicles continued to connect well with consumers this month. Total compact vehicle sales of the fuel-efficient Dodge Caliber, Jeep Compass and Jeep Patriot, which each achieve 28 miles per gallon or better in highway driving, reached an April record 17,977 units last month, up 16 percent from April 2007.
