Jeep gets Army contract

According to AllPar.com, Chrysler LLC was awarded a contract to deliver long-wheelbase Jeeps to the army. This doesn't appear to be for the recently announced J8, but rather a military version of the Wrangler Unlimited.
Chrysler International Corp. was awarded a $38 million contract for commercial Wrangler long wheelbase Jeeps, diesel engines, transmissions, and transfer cases by the U.S. Army Tank - Automotive and Armaments Command in Warren, Michigan. The contract was initiated in June 2006, and delivery is due by February 2008.
