The guys over at Car & Truck News have some information about the possible future full-size Jeep. Here's a snippet: Code named SJ, the vehicle will be built on the next generation Ram platform (DR). The Buzz is that DC will revive the legendary Wagoneer nameplate for the SUV. Earlier this month, a source close to Jeep manufacturing reported that the big SUV will be VERY big (over 78 inches tall, too big to fit most garages), and will also carry a BIG price tag -- between 45 and 50K (fully loaded). He added that the Wagoneer will have every option imaginable as standard equipment.
Today, the same source reports that the final decision on the Wagoneer is still pending. He reports that DC's marketing and manufacturing divisions are currently conducting the final feasibility study that would grant final production approval for the Jeep Grand Wagoneer. Be sure to check out the entire article as it goes on to describe the current debate within DaimlerChrysler about whether or not the SJ will be built...
In other news, the Jeep Grand Cherokee moved up 6 places on the list of the 20 best selling vehicles in the United States through November, 1999.
