| DaimlerChrysler to Introduce Grand Cherokee to Chinese Market

DaimlerChrysler AG is expanding its lineup in China with a slew of new models in a bid to boost sales in the buoyant market.
The German automaker said Wednesday that it expects its sales in China to grow 75 percent this year to about 65,000 vehicles, outpacing the overall market’s estimated growth of 16 percent to 18 percent.

DaimlerChrysler’s Chrysler Group aims to double sales in China this year to about 40,000 units after introducing such models as the Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV, Chrysler Crossfire sports car and Grand Voyager minivan.
The vehicles were among 137 DaimlerChrysler models on display Wednesday at the Beijing auto show.

DaimlerChrysler has a long history of building Jeeps in China and exporting Mercedes cars there, but has been slow to boost its presence in the country.
