Jeep sales for June 1998 declined 7% compared with June 1997 Chrysler reported yesterday. Only the Wrangler showed an increase (2%) over last June's sales. Sales of the Cherokee and the Grand Cherokee were down 13% and 7%, respectively. The year-to-date data is favorable - the Jeep brand is selling 2% better than the same period in 1997 with the Cherokee leading the way with 11% better sales than in 1997.
