Ways to Keep Warm in Your RTT

When I have camped in a RTT in the winter, the temperature drops down below freezing, and I tend to get a little cold at night. How do you guys keep you and your family warm in your RTTs when you camp in the cold? I've heard of 12v Blankets, Mr Buddy Heaters, Diesel Heaters, but I don't want...

    Winter Tires

Does anyone use winter tires to drive their CJ in the winter? I have a 4" lift, 33x10.50r15's, 4.10's, an automatic and a 4.8L Vortec. I am considering selling my current winter truck and using my jeep when it snows.

    Winter Gear Oil Selection

Ok. I drive my '79 cj7 daily. Last few weeks have brought -7 temps. I go out after work and my gear box is all but stuck. It's like direct drive with trans out of gear the oil is so thick. I have about a 20 minute commute home and by the time I get there the trans is just getting loosened up. I...

Winter Cross Country Trip (RTT Trailer VS Motels)

Hey All! So i've been considering doing a cross country trip for about a month in my CJ5. Sometime between February and March. I've been debating whether or not i should buy a Roof-Top Tent Trailer, or just stay in motels/airbnb. I calculated the costs between the two options and its about the...

Rubicon Trail - Winter CRAZY Land!

So we were feeling a bit adventurous, and decided we'd never had our tires in snow yet on the jeeps! We, quite bravely (or foolishly) decided we'd try our jeeps in the snow on the very difficult Rubicon Trail. Jeeps did great in the snow, but the ice sucked big time. We left Sac @ 4:00AM...

    So sick of the winter

 The CJ has been sitting in storage for 7 months now , I cant stand it much longer. I think I am starting to get the shakes. So I had to do a little CJ bonding time , installed a recent purchase of a OEM steering wheel to replace the grant that the po installed. :bang: :bang::bang:

    After Winter Startup

Hey all. My 1984 CJ-7 has been sitting all winter in the garage. I was planning on driving it periodically during the winter, but it just didn't happen. Anyway, I was wondering if any of you would suggest adding anything to the fuel tank before starting her up. No fuel injectors, just an old...

Anybody used radiator shutters in winter?

So I've read several posts about how weenie the CJ5 heater is. Then I recalled the trucks I've seen with radiator covers, and old cars with actual shutters over the radiators. Why not adapt shutters to a Jeep for winter driving?

    Winter Wonderland

Our first real snow came as a storm dumping well over a foot of snow. This is what I have been waiting for. I took the CJ out and found a road that didn't really go anywhere. I love breaking the virgin snow. Koda, my dog loves playing in the snow. Here's my '79 CJ5 Then I headed...

    Winter Sucks

Any questions ? :madjeep::grinjeep: Not taking my Junk out on the salt covered roads. Somehow pulling 7,000 lbs of trailer and Jeep down a ice/snow covered road does`nt thrill me either. :censored:

What do other jeeps do in the winter?

I know a lot of you use the winter months for fixing , updating restoring your Jeep for next year. How about those other jeeps that work all winter. Here is mine in the storm that never happened in Northern Ohio. All we got was a light dusting of about 2"-3" instead of feet. YouTube -...

Ahhh, finally I get to start building my new garage. Since I moved into my new house last October I haven’t had much of a chance to work on it mainly because it was full of :dung: from the move in. I finally got it cleared out enough to start on the construction. First step is to get the walls...
