I am working on a 1969 CJ5 with the V6. This is not my Jeep (although I would love to own it). I'm working on it for a neighbor. I have the Jeep running pretty well now but wasn't getting anything out of the alternator. Original: I took it to two different auto parts places and had them check...

    I need help with a 1969 Dauntless 225 V6 distributor

I am working on a 1969 CJ5. It has a Dauntless 225 in it. I believe that this is what is called an odd fire engine. It is consistently backfiring out the exhaust at high rpms. The vacuum advance is broken on the Prestolite IAT-4502 distributor. I would like to replace the distributor with a...

Bought an abandoned CJ5 so there is no paperwork on it. Checking the VIN on the internet says it shows to be a 1976, but DMV says it's a 1969...is there a difference with body style or something else that can give me a clue what the real year is? .. thanks

I am now the proud owner of my first jeep! Here is a picture from the day I got it. A good friend gave it to me. He put the wheels and tires on it. Build Thread 1969 CJ-6 (former park ranger Jeep to become a Gunship)

First, a little background info. I bought this Jeep because I have always wanted to learn more about cars and how to work on them. I put off learning far too long and decided to buy a "project" and force myself to make time for it as I had already thrown down some cash. Unfortunately, a couple...
