Just went through your gallery Dave. Nice Jeep'n! I've been to some of those places and can't wait to get back. And I like your CJ! It is very close to what I am trying to get to. One word of caution though, that black thing will kill ya if you don't keep your wits about you.

Dave, were you able to preserve your fender liners? From your pics, it looks like you did. I'm guessing that the fender liner represents the farthest aft that you trimmed. Is that correct. I'm going to model my fender trimming after yours, so I'm kind of looking for landmarks to guide me. Nice tip on the pneumatic shears. Don't currently have any, but for the limited use I'll give them, I'm sure Harbor Freight will have something affordable.

Followed your link. We'll actually be coming out a little later than your event. Beautiful area, though. Done the Alpine Loop, camping near Rosa's Cabin. Been down Black Bear, and over Imogene. Agree it's awesome.

We've primarily followed the trails listed in a couple of books I found, but have also gotten some good tips from people we've met on the trail. I'll definitely hit you up for some trail info before we go out this year. Thanks, Ron

Dave, Two items: First, I love your fender cuts. I'm getting ready to put 35s on my CJ, and I was looking at the aftermarket options for flat fenders. Are those your original fenders? If so, did you use a pattern to cut the fenders, or just draw something up yourself? The lines are really clean.

Second, I trailer my jeep out to CO once or twice a year to hit the trails. Spent a lot of time basing out of Gunnison. Spend some time basing out of Lake City, and one year out of Longmont. Never spent any time down Durango way. Any suggestions for jeeping in that area?

hey, I'm new to the jeep world. just bought my first, an 81 cj5. I'm looking to do the suspension and tires and your jeep really has the look and stance I want and definitely looks like it still performs well on all terrain. would you mind sharing with me your setup? I appreciate it. thanks
