I recently welded new metal in my floorboards where the roll bar meets the floor this is the place that seems to rust real bad on CJ's which have carpet in them. I am looking for a good sealer to seal where the new floor boards meet the inner side of the jeep side, where the outer seat belt mount to.

I just bought automotive seam sealer when I did around the floorboards on my Cj-8. I also Herculined over it.

I cant see Petescj's pics (work computer blocks em) but 3M makes a great brush on sealer that your local paint shop should be able to get

Acrylic latex caulk works great. It can be painted, and it's about as permanent as things get for vehicles.

I used Dominion sure seal it's OEM approved and comparable to 3m seam sealer I think there #8500?
Anyway it's not real easy to work with and you need to lay down a clean bead right out of the tube cuse it cures very fast and does not tool well.
I went thru 4 10oz. tubes priot to paint.
Every metal lap joint or crack that can hold water should be sealed if you are looking to rust free.

I like to use E6000 it is made by the same people who make "Shoe Goo". It is self leveling and dry is slightly softer than bed liner. Being self leveling, to lay on an open crack or vertical surface a painters tape form or support is needed. it is the consistency of thick molasses so it will fill uneven cavities.
