Im Running 80's 258 w/ Headman Headers, Offenhouzer 4bbl intake and a modified Holley Marine Carb. high 300's CFM Range. I've been thinking of picking up a Flex fan, we run one on the race car and its great. I did put one on my Cutlass after I got the motor back and it overheated. So I took it off and returned it.
Has anyone here ran one who is running a similer set up as myself.

Run a flex fan on my CJ w/ V8 - Had over heating issues until I put a shroud on it. Never again after that. Not the same setup though. Just make you run a good fitting shroud.

i run the a flexalite fan with 258 it does ok. except when sitting still for a few minutes then it gets a little warm i know its not good but i don't have a fan shroud either. i am working on that little problem. mine is the hard bladed high rpm fan it really needs a shroud to be effective at low rpm. but at high rpm it quiet and does the job

I run a 258 with a flexlite fan, no shroud, no problems of any kind at any speed or idle.

well like i said i run the high rpm fan thats why it tends to run a little warm setting still. but its quiet at high rpms and it will do a lot better job when i get a shroud on it.
