SS Brakes supplies a nice kit - expensive but it has everything to convert. Your CJ should have had an AMC 20, what year and make of D44 do you have?

I have a couple of those late 86 44s and several Model 20s, whats funny is that they use the same brake parts as the 20. Even the backing plae is the same except for the hole is larger to pass over the bearing and the 4 bolt holes are larger. I would really think (based on my comparison) that a model 20 kit could be used on a late CJ 44 with a little mod work. The main show stopper would be the bracket that bolts to the tube flange would need to be larger to fit the thinker tube and larger bolt patter.
Here's alink that I found for one of the few companies that has one just for the late 86 CJ 44...
CJ-7 '86-'87 Dana 44

Most kits for the read D44 use Lincoln calipers. The TSM site is great and you will get everything you need.
I wasn't in the mood to buy pieces when I converted my CJ so I went with SS.
Both company's will get you stopping, TSM is cheaper.
