Dropped my oil pan today on my way to rear main seal replacement and I encountered this. Is there ANY concievable reason why there would be a rag all up in the pickup?
It is literally sucked up in there. Is this the remnants of some kind of filter????
If not should the pickup have a screen on it?

Looks like someone was cleaning out the oil pan last time it was off and forgot to take the rag out when done. Remove it and I bet you will get a whole lot better oil pressure

There should be a screen on the pickup and that looks like one of the biggest OOPS (surgen forgot a gauze pad in a patient type scenario) I have ever seen... :td: o_O
Some how it was still pulling in oil.

I’ve heard about this happening, thinking it was an urban myth. Its real.
