Jeeper
I never thought the day would come that I have to sell my Jeep. Recent life changes are forcing me to liquidate some assets. Can you guys give me advice on how to price and best places to list my CJ? I don't understand what makes one Jeep sell for $13k and what looks like an identical Jeep list for $36 Here is a description of what I have and a few pictures. Its a 1985 CJ. I literally bought it from a little old lady that worked with my wife. Years ago when I would stop by the hospital to visit my wife while she was working I would alway see this Jeep in the parking garage. Everytime I stopped by I would remind the lady to let my wife know is she ever wanted to sell it. Well the the day came about 25 years ago that she did. This jeep has been garaged at home and work by previous owner and has been a garage princes since I have had it. Immediately after purchase I had a local 4x4 shop put in a crate chevy 350 with an RV cam, headman hedders, aluminum intake and Holley 4 barrel. I never changed a thing after that for 20 years. Finally, I had a friend that was a retired mechanic take it to make a few upgrades for me. So here is how the jeep sits today. I had it repainted to the color you see now. Every square inch except under the hood. It was originally brown. There were 2 rusted spots the size of coffee cups just behind the front wheels where those body panels meet. There is no other rust anywhere on the Jeep. I had a 2.5" lift put on to accommodate 18" wheels and new Nitto Grapplers. They are the only set of tires ever put on the Jeep. There are 69000 miles one the body and about 20K on the motor. I had a stereo system professionally installed, Rhino lined the inside and added a tach on the steering column just because I always wanted one. I have a Best top and the original hard doors which ended up not getting painted and are stored. I haven't put them on in 20 years. In the pictures you will see the seats look brown and that's because those are covers. I have had them on since day 1. The original seats underneath are in perfect condition and are a cream color with big CJ letters embossed into them about midway up where your back would rest. Where would you start with an asking price if you were me? Thanks in advance for any help.
