I bought my 1985 CJ7 in 1998; it was the first car I purchased with my own hard-earned money and I was so proud of it and the year it lasted. I spent a lot of time tinkering to keep it running and it finally died. I dabbled with the idea of rebuilding it for years and finally decided to just jump in and do it, so here I am.

I’m starting with the transmission (T5). The Jeep is 5 states away in my parent’s back garage, so until I can get it closer, I’ll be doing things as I can get parts off and to where I am living to work on them.

It’s not pretty, I’m doing a full, body off frame rebuild, but looking forward to the experience and the learning.
